COACH: Ruffin McNeill — At ECU and overall: 12-14, 2 years
OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR: Lincoln Riley
DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR: Brian Mitchell
LAST LEAGUE TITLE: 2009
LAST BOWL: 2010, Military
RETURNING STARTERS: 13; 6 offense, 7 defense
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Rio Johnson, RB Reggie Bullock, WR Justin Hardy, WR Andrew Bodenheimer, LB Jeremy Grove, LB Daniel Drake, FS Damon Magazu
PRIMARY STRENGTHS: Speed and depth at wide receiver will be a major commodity on offense. The key is getting the ball into the right hands on a consistent basis with a new quarterback. With even more improvement on defense, this could be one of the better units in C-USA as it returns nearly 70 percent of its tackles.
POTENTIAL PROBLEMS: Retooling an offense that loses the prowess of Dominique Davis isn’t the easiest thing. The Pirates are always challenged at running back; a steady performer would be welcomed. Bullock and Michael Dobson will be counted on heavily unless someone else emerges.
