Danny Wild-US PRESSWIRE

COACH: Paul Pasqualoni — At Connecticut: 5-7, 1 year;

OVERALL: 140-79-1, 20 years

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR: George DeLeone

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR: Don Brown

LAST LEAGUE TITLE: 2010

LAST BOWL: 2010, Fiesta

RETURNING STARTERS: 15; 5 offense, 9 defense, punter

PLAYERS TO WATCH: RB Lyle McCombs, TE Ryan Griffin, DE Trevardo Williams, LB Sio Moore, LB Jory Johnson, CB Dwayne Gratz, CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson

PRIMARY STRENGTHS: UConn has a returning 1,000-yard rusher, arguably the Big East’s best tight end and a defense with nine starters back. McCombs is the latest in a growing line of top tailbacks produced by UConn.

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS: Quarterback is the biggest issue, but at least there are some options with five on the roster. Game-breakers are still in short supply at wide receiver, and the offensive line needs some re-tooling. Defensively, the Huskies need to improve against the pass, a major problem last year.
